Named after its 1941 camera, Kodak Ektra emphasizes the camera bump  and it comes with a faux-leather cover. The frame has a metal finish but it’s actually plastic underneath. The company has already said it has no intention of competing with the likes of iPhone 7 and Google Pixel in terms of photo quality, but the Ektra smartphone is all about lifestyle and simplicity.

The device is designed by Bullit, the same company that helped CAT designed the rugged CAT S60 smartphone.

Kodak Ektra comes with a 21MP Sony IMX230 camera with f/2.0 and under the hood is a MediaTek Helio X20 processor; this is the same processor found in the Phantom 6 Plus we recently reviewed. It comes with 3GB RAM, 32GB storage and  3000mAh battery. It runs Anddoir 6.0. It comes pre-installed with Google’s image app Snapseed as the default photo editor.
Kodak Ektra has a 5-inch screen with 1080 resolution. At a price of £449, the device should be available in Europe this December. However, it may be launched in other

markets by 2017.
